Myanmar Beer held a celebration to usher in Chinese New Year (CNY) on 6 February 2008 at 19th Street in Yangon, and 30th Street, 35th Street in Mandalay with much pomp and noise. This is where most Myanmar Chinese go to Chinatown to do their yearly festive shopping for the CNY goodies. The shopping streets were decorated with banners and other accessories to complete the look for CNY, courtesy of Myanmar Beer. The festive moods were infectious as people thronged to the streets to watch the much awaited Lion Dance performances sponsored by Myanmar Beer. Our business partners were also greeted by the Lion Dance teams to bring luck and happiness to the businesses. A special 6-can packaging was introduced only at supermarkets in Yangon & Mandalay for sales during the festive period. We had an encouraging response from the trial and we definitely will create a more exciting and special promotion at China Town in event next year.
